How To Make Your Own Spa-Worthy Face Masks At Home

Let’s face it in terms of beauty treatments, there isn’t much a good face mask can’t cure! Whether it be taking the stress out of a long day of working from home, helping indulge in some self-care or simply just to make your skin feel great. Instead of having to get online and find the best face mask for your skin type here’s what you need to do; Open your fridge and pantry. That’s right, we’re going full DIY.

Moisturising, Soothing Mask For All Skin Types

  • 3 tablespoon oats
  • Warm milk
  • 1 teaspoon honey

Its sounds like a breakfast but they also work beautifully on our skin!

Honey is an excellent humectant, which means it retain moister without feeling oily and massaged on to affected areas, it helps with the appearance of scars and increases healing and tissue regeneration.

Oats are healing, nourishing, calming, and moisturising. Milk contains lactic acid which will gently exfoliate your skin whilst brightening without irritation

Mix all ingredients with a blender and apply for 15 min then remove with warm water.

For Dull, Dry And Tired Complexion- Avocado Mask

  • 1/4 ripe avocado
  • 2 spoons of natural yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • 1 teaspoon coconut oil

I know all you Eastern Suburb ladies will have an avocado at home so this one is for you!

Like a big glow in a bowl, this delicious-sounding face mask delivers deep hydration from the coconut oil, gives your skin hit of antioxidants with the honey and soothes redness with yogurt probiotics. The nourishing avocado mask is rich in vitamins, folic acid, minerals and fatty acids. Avocado mask will make your skin nourished, soft and radiant.

Mix it up and paint it on.

Otherworldly Glow Mask

  • 1 tablespoon cacao powder
  • 1/4 papaya
  • A squeeze of aloe vera gel

Aloe Vera is filled with vitamins A, C, E, B1, B3, B6 and B12 which means is radiance boosting, skin soothing and hydrating. Papaya is packed with exfoliating enzymes that will dissolve dead skin cells and cacao will work wonder to brighten, improve circulation for plump and pillowy look and feel.

Stir all ingredients and leave for 10 min then remove with warm water.

For Acne And Blemishes- Crystal Clear Skin-Oh Yes!

  • 1 tablespoon manuka honey
  • 1 teaspoon tumeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon of dead sea salt

Manuka is healing and bacteria zipping, while turmeric is amazing to bringing down redness and its great for raw, acne prone angry skin. Its anti- inflammatory and anti -bacterial and mixing in sea salt will help to clean, reduce inflammation and infection. Together, they attack on infection, irritation, swelling and excess sebum which are blocking pores and leads to spots.

Mix everything together apply for 10-15 min paying extra attention to T-zone then remove with warm water.

Remember to always do a patch test first, especially if you have sensitive skin, this way you can see how your skin will react. Lastly, be sure to use the mask on the day you make it! Ingredients exposed to air and bacteria will very quickly go off and could easily irritate the skin.
