Don’t you just love summer? The sun, the salt, the long days and warm balmy evenings, not to mention that sun-kissed glow… Living in Bronte, when we’re not at work rest assured our days are spent dipping in and out of the ocean, letting the saltwater do its thing.

While most summer detoxes are focused on diet and exercise, it’s time to shift our focus and turn our attention to the health of our skin.

Whether you want to target a specific concern, opt for an all-over approach, or just looking to clean up old habits, the following habits will help you detox your skin this summer and achieve a long-lasting glow.

Your Summer Skin Detox Starts Now…

1. The clean beauty look

We’re not talking about clean as in ‘clean ingredients’ – nah. We’re talking about the rebranded ‘no makeup’ makeup look. Just search #cleanlook on TikTok and you’ll see what we mean. It’s like the ‘skinimalism’ trend – but with your whole beauty look.

Our top tip to master the real no makeup, makeup look? It’s having a good foundation to start with! This means your skin. And the first step? Booking in for a skin consultation at Sensation Boutique. Let us help identify and discuss your skincare needs and make some recommendations to help you achieve your goals.

2. Be proactive with your cleaning

It is essential to clean skin from makeup before you go to bed. It can cause severe damage to your skin during the night. The skin rejuvenates itself while you sleep, and when you leave makeup on, you are blocking that from happening.

Note: There’s no point cleansing your skin and investing in a good skincare routine when all you’re going to do is sleep on a dirty pillowcase. So it’s important you wash your sheets, switch your towels regularly and alternate your pillowcase, not forgetting to deep clean your makeup brushes, and of course, remembering to wash your hands on a regular basis.

3. Eat what your skin likes

Once you’ve gotten a feel for the different ingredients, it’s time to consider your own priorities and decide which Skincare is much more than the products we use. It’s what we eat, drink, nourish and fuel our bodies with. Your skin reflects what is going on inside your body. Therefore, to have a beautiful and shining complexion, you should adequately nourish your body.

4. Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate!!

Most of you may know that drinking at least eight glasses of water or more is good for our skin and overall health. If you didn’t know, water has the incredible power to freshen, cleanse, and aerate the skin.

5. Let’s get physical

The more you move your body the more you’ll improve in all areas of life. It promotes blood circulation, improved oxygenation, and collagen production that help to regenerate your skin cells.

It doesn’t have to be high impact either, incidental exercise like walking or tennis, even shopping, is just as good. As long as you’re getting your heart rate up for at least half an hour each day, you’ll reap the benefits of all those endorphins. Ultimately leaving you with that radiating long-lasting summer glow.

6. Get some zzz’s

Sleep plays an essential role in our skin health. As much as being active is necessary to get glowing skin, restfulness is equally important.

Our entire body, our nerves, and even our skin heal at the time when we are asleep.
But, on the other hand, sleep deprivation can cause dark circles under your eyes and wrinkles to your skin.

Make these healthy habit part of your daily skincare routine in order to improve your skin.
Soon you will feel blessed. #tooblessedtobestressed
